چکیده
Ovarian carcinosarcoma composed of high-grade carcinoma and sarcoma is an extremely rare neoplasm typically occurs in postmenopausal women aged over 60 years. A 73-year-old female, gravida three para three, presented to our hospital with right lower abdominal pain. Right pelvic solid tumor ascites was detected on ultrasound examination. She underwent hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy partial omentectomy, but the had invaded ureter, some fragile could not be taken (sub-optimal surgery). On imprint ascitic cytology specimens during operation, atypical cells suggestive adenocarcinoma spindle immunocytochemically vimentin positive were found. The resected histopathologically consisted serous adenocarcinoma, chondrosarcoma fibrosarcoma. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that for AE1/AE3 fibrosarcoma stained vimentin. final diagnosis ovarian (stage pT3CNxMx). Microsatellite instability stable BRCA1/2 mutations found cells. patient given four cycles chemotherapy paclitaxel, carboplatin bevacizumab regimen, thereafter she treated ifosfamide cisplatin because slight elevation serum CA125.

Desmoplastic small round cell tumour: Cytological and immunocytochemical features
BACKGROUND: Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) is a rare and highly aggressive neoplasm. The cytological diagnosis of these tumors can be difficult because they show morphological features quite similar to other small round blue cells tumors. We described four cases of DSRCT with cytological sampling: one obtained by fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) and three from serous effusions....
متن کاملPrimary Endometrial High Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma: A Case Report with Cytological, Histopathological and Immunohistochemical Features
An 84-year-old woman suffered from post-menopausal genital bleeding for 3 months. Based on the endometrial cytological findings (suggestive of high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma) showing that there were rosette-like and cord-like structures consisting of small rounded tumor cells with oval nuclei and scanty cytoplasm, radical hysterectomy was performed. Histopathological and immunohistochemica...
متن کاملClinical features and outcomes of uterine and ovarian carcinosarcoma.
BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to compare the clinical presentation and outcomes of women with ovarian and uterine carcinosarcoma (CS). METHODS We performed a retrospective review of patients treated for uterine or ovarian CS from 1952 to 2003. Fisher's Exact Test was used to compare patient characteristics. Survival curves were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared...

BACKGROUND Esophageal carcinosarcoma is a very rare neoplasm and its clinicopathological characteristics and the prognostic factors that influence the clinical outcome of the patient remain a matter of controversy. PATIENTS AND METHODS Twenty patients with esophageal carcinosarcoma were referred to our institutions. Tissue blocks were reviewed and sections containing both carcinomatous and sa...
متن کاملPathological and immunohistochemical study of lethal primary brain stem injuries
BACKGROUND Many of the deaths that occur shortly after injury or in hospitals are caused by mild trauma. Slight morphological changes are often found in the brain stems of these patients during autopsy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the histopathological changes involved in primary brain stem injuries (PBSI) and their diagnostic significance. METHODS A total of 65 patients who h...
